Day 7. Listened to the shipping forecast

Today I listened to the shipping forecast for the first time via the wonders of bbc iplayer at work.

Seeing as I have rather a cold and needed something to sooth me on this wintery Monday it was rather apt.

I enjoyed the Nordic-like poetry of it, almost Seamus Heaney-esque, and the man presenting it had a lovely, almost melodic voice.

My particular favourite part was when he said that "low German bite would be losing their identities by midnight" and I would quite like a "dogger fish" as a pet.

I can see how it could be a lovely way to lull yourself to sleep, encouraging dreams of vikings, squallish showers and frontal troughs.

Thanks to Lucy for her suggestion as something she's also tried for the first time this year.
